Carl "Woody" Combs, 71, a retired member of International Association of Machinists Automotive Lodge 778, died June 22 at his home in Kansas City, Kan. He was initiated in Lodge 778 in May 1949, and was a mechanic for General Motors Corp. He retired June 13, 1975

Mr. Combs is survived by a son, Warren L. Combs; three daughters, Mrs. Wendy Ledbetter, Mrs. Winnie L. Jobe and Miss Wanda L. Combs, and seven grandchildren. Burial was in Chapel Hills Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Services for Woody Combs, 71, Kansas City, Kan., will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the graveside in Chapel Hill Cemetery.

Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Fulton-Nickel Funeral Home.

Mr. Combs was born in Moberly, Mo, and moved to KCK in 1951. He had been a mechanic at the General Motors Fairfax Assembly Plant before his retirement in 1975. He was a member of the United Auto Workers Union.

His wife, Mrs. Wanda L. Combs, died June 5.

Surviving are a son, Warren L. Combs, KCK; three daughters, Mrs. Wendy Ledbetter, Mrs. Winnie L. Jobe, and Miss Wanda L. Combs, all of KCK; and seven grandchildren.

Mrs. Wanda L. Combs, wife of retired International Association of Machinists Automotive Lodge 778 member Carl W. Combs, died June 12 at Bethany Medical Center.

Mrs. Combs is survived by her husband, of the home, 3311 N. 44th Terr.; three daughters, a son and 11 grandchildren.

Burial was in Chapel Hill Cemetery
